The first Broadway revival of Clifford Odett’s The Big Knife, opened on April 16, 2013. The production, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt), stars Bobby Cannavale (The Motherf**ker with the Hat), Richard Kind (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Producers) and Marin Ireland. It also boasts the talents of Broadway vets, Reg Rogers (A Free Man of color, Royal FamilyC and Chip Zein (The Country Girl, Into the Woods), being noted for their strong performances. Critics are noting that this is not one of Odetts’ stronger plays and the weaknesses in the writing are more evident through some inconsistent casting. However everyone agrees that Richard Kind is giving one of his best performances ever.
