Barnes & Noble will host the cast album release for the new 2012 Broadway cast recording of Roundabout Theatre Company’s critically acclaimed Broadway production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Hosted by Rupert Holmes, the event will be at Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th St at Lexington) on Friday, March 8th starting at 4:30PM.
The “Live at Barnes and Noble” series event will feature appearances by the full cast of the musical comedy with performances by Stephanie J. Block, Betsy Wolfe, and Jessie Mueller singing favorites such as “Perfect Strangers,” “Murderer’s Confession” and “The Writing on the Wall.” Afterwards, Rupert Holmes and the principal cast will sign autographs.
The Mystery Of Edwin Drood stars Stephanie J. Directed by Scott Ellis, The Mystery of Edwin Drood features choreography byWarren Carlyle and music direction by Paul Gemignani. The design team includesAnna Louizos (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting), Tony Meola(sound) and Paul Huntley (hair & wigs).
DRG Records has released the cast recording of the production, preserving all the songs including “Moonfall”, “Both Sides of the Coin” and “The Writing on the Wall”. The two-disc set also includes a new Act Two opening number, additional ballet music from Puffer’s opium den, an additional Act One track not previously recorded and eight tracks featuring the confession of each murderer.
