A cast recording of Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2012 Broadway revival of Rupert Holmes’ Tony Award winning musical comedy The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
Leading actors Stephanie J. Block, Will Chase, Gregg Edelman, Jim Norton, Chita Rivera, Andy Karl, Jessie Mueller, Betsy Wolfe, Nicholas Barasch, Peter Benson,Robert Creighton and performances from the entire Broadway cast will be preserved. The two-disc set will also include a new Act Two opening number, additional ballet music from Puffer’s opium den, an additional Act One track not previously recorded and eight tracks featuring the confession of each murderer.
Beginning January 29, 2013, the recording will be available for purchase digitally, online at www.drgrecords.com or at Studio 54.
The Mystery of Edwin Drood features Book, Music, Lyrics & Orchestrations byRupert Holmes. The new Broadway production is directedby Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle and features music direction by Paul Gemignani.
The album will be produced by Grammy Award winning producer Hugh Fordin (President, DRG Records), engineered by Cynthia Daniels and recorded on December 10, 2012 at KAS Recording (formerly Master Sound) in the Kaufman Astoria Film Studios.
The design team includes Anna Louizos (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting), Tony Meola (sound) and Paul Huntley (hair & wigs).
The Broadway cast also features Alison Cimmet, Nick Corley, Janine DiVita, Jenifer Foote, Justin Greer, Shannon Lewis, Spencer Plachy, Kiira Schmidt, Eric Sciotto, Jim Walton.
