Be a Hero to a New Yorker in Need

Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark has announced the Foxwoods Theatre as a New York Cares Coat Drive public collection site. From November 15 – December 31, 2012 patrons can drop off coats outside the box office at 213 West 42nd Street between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and during show hours on performance days.

This year marks the 24th Annual New York Cares Coat Drive. New York Cares will work with more than 300 community agencies throughout the five boroughs to distribute coats to seniors, men, women, children, and infants. Especially important, this year we will distribute coats for the clients of agencies especially hard hit by Hurricane Sandy. The goal is to raise a total of 200,000 coats.

Spider-man Turn Off The Dark is now in its 2nd smash year on Broadway, and has been seen by more than 1 million audience members from around the world. It features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy® Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger (Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, “Big Love”). Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were recently nominated for Tony® Awards for their work on Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark.
