Great actress, intriguing script! This is what all the critics are saying about The Testament of Mary written by Colm Toibin and starring Fiona Shaw which opened on April 22, 2103 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. With a small throng of protestors outside the theatre, the play has been playing to spell-bound audiences. Directed by long-time Shaw collaborator Deborah Warner, this one woman show (sharing the stage with a live vulture!) joins a crowded season of one-person shows with Sue Mengers: I’ll Eat You Last, Macbeth and Ann all having previously opened this season.
